READY TO BECOME A Crushers?

Follow the options below to nominate yourself into the Junior Draft or Senior Auction for the chance to be picked up by the Barossa Crushers.

I WANNA BE A JUNIOR Crushers.

Junior Draft Day

A draft will be organised for each age group that allows the best young players on the Sunshine Coast to put their names forward to be selected by the Barossa Crushers.

A talent scout will help make selections; they are sourced exclusively on their knowledge of the junior cricket landscape. Much like the AFL draft, a lottery determines the order in which owners get their selections. First drawn, first selection and so on.

The APL will host the Junior Draft Day. This will be a family-friendly event that will be live streamed. Once teams have been allocated and profile pictures have been taken, all junior members will sign their very own mock APL contract; a moment that makes the event feel like part of the professional experience.

The tournament is a new and emerging platform to compete and grow your cricket skills in the modern game.

Junior Tournament - Round Robin

The junior tournament will be played in the September school holidays providing players with a great opportunity to play high-level cricket before club, school and representative games begin. The competition will run consecutively for three to four days. The finals will be played on a Sunday to ensure families and friends can attend. All game will be live streamed.
Please note that nominating into the draft does not guarantee you selection by the Crushers or any other franchise but players who have not nominated will not be considered

I WANNA BE A SENIOR Crushers.

Senior Auction Night

After the official launch of the APL, any of Adelaide’s cricketers, aged 18 or over, can put their hat into the ring – regardless of age, previous performance, or the area in which they live or play club cricket. After the nomination closing date, the all teams including the Barossa Crushers will receive a list of those who have nominated for the auction. Then the magic happens. On auction night, each team will have a salary cap. Of course, it’s “monopoly money” – like a fantasy football auction on steroids – to which they must stick to, whatever the outcome. For the players, it’s all about bragging rights. Who is going to fetch the highest bid? Will you go for more than your mate? There’s only one way to find out… The Auction Night will have limited availability so keep up to date with the latest events and announcements on our website.

Senior Tournament

The tournament will be played in the spring as a preseason, so it does not clash with any existing Queensland Cricket competitions. It will provide players with an opportunity to mix with new teammates and have a good hit-out leading into their season.

The Seniors and U19’s competition will run over four to five Sundays in August. The finals day will be played on a Sunday at a premier ground, before all club cricket begins, to ensure families and friends can attend. Games will be live-streamed each round.
